Private-first personal co-processor prototype

Journal

Capture quickly. Clear the inbox. Work from a smaller, cleaner layer.

About Journal

A private-first personal co-processor prototype. Journal turns the raw stream of what crosses your mind into a working layer of tasks, reflections, and explorations.

Private-first. Your captures and decisions live in an account-specific database on the owner's hosted VM. The owner has root access. Capture text is sent to Anthropic's API so Journal can propose structure; Anthropic sees that text too. Ordinary captures are not sent to the feedback tracker unless you use the feedback composer or explicitly approve a Share decision.

Operator-run. This instance is run by one person. No company, no support team. Contact the owner directly for any issue.

Forgot your password? Owner-mediated reset only. No email-based recovery.

Backups. Nightly. Kept on the server for at least 7 days. Copies are also uploaded to the owner's personal cloud storage and remain there until the owner prunes them. Backups are not encrypted at the app layer. Deleting a capture removes it from active Journal data immediately; existing backup copies are not retroactively deleted. A restore from a backup made before that deletion cannot know the later deletion occurred.

Leaving. Ask the owner to delete your account at any time. Active data is removed immediately. Existing backup copies are not retroactively scrubbed.

Getting started

Delete this unresolved capture?

Delete is only for a capture that should not remain in Journal. If the capture matters but the proposal is wrong, cancel and choose Revise.

This unresolved capture and its proposal will be deleted. Journal will create no outcomes from it.

Existing backup copies are not retroactively deleted. A restore from a backup made before this deletion cannot know it happened.
